"Oh, the places you'll go!"
If you didn't know, that is the title of the last book Dr. Seuss wrote. It is a book that many people give as a graduation present to kids of all ages, due to the inspirational message it gives about looking toward your future. We will be reading it in class this week, along with many other Dr. Seuss books, in celebration of Read Across America week. This week is designated as Read Across America week every year as it coincides with Dr. Seuss's birthday. This year it is also special as the movie "The Lorax" comes out in theaters this week. "The Lorax" is a book that Dr. Seuss wrote that deals with pollution and conservation. Talk to your kids about how to save energy this month.
Also this week, we will be dressing as farmers on Thursday when we read "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" and Friday we will be wearing hats for "The Cat in the Hat". Keep an eye out for pictures of your kids. I am posting a picture today of our crazy socks and shoes that we wore for "The Foot Book". Also check out the picture page for Mardi Gras and Science Fair pictures.
On Wednesday we will be going to the Sam Noble Museum in Norman. All of our class has paid for the trip and turned in their slips, so we are good to go. I think this will be really fun!
Be planning for parent/teacher conferences. They will be on March 15-16. A sign up sheet will be in the office next week. Conferences will be Thursday evening and Friday morning. There will be no school on Friday, March 16. As always, please let me know if you have any questions.
