On Tuesday, September 6 we had to help Harry! The task was to build a perch for Harry so he can more easily see around our classroom. The kids were given pipe cleaners, aluminum foil, cupcake liners, index cards, and tape to use for their perch. All groups successfully constructed a perch, though some didn't hold Harry up for very long. Everyone worked well together and had a lot of fun. On Friday, August 29th, we had "The Longest Chain Challenge". The kids were in groups of two and were given only one piece of construction paper, a glue stick, scissors, and a ruler. The challenge was to create the longest chain possible, without any directions! They had to make a plan, then make the chains. They discovered what method worked the best; long skinny chains. |
